DANCE PARTICIPANTS FOR SHOWCASE #2 WILL NOT INCLUDE OUR MONDAY CHILDREN'S CLASSES (Preschool and tap/ballet/jazz). THEIR SHOWCASE IS MOVED TO 3:00. Family and Friends of our Monday Children's Classes (ages 3-8) should attend Showcase #1 at 3:00.  

OUR YOUTH AND TEENS WILL PERFORM IN BOTH SHOWS. THEY WILL NOT PEFORM ALL OF THEIR DANCES IN SHOWCASE #1. TUESDAY HIP HOP 5:00 WILL ALSO BE IN SHOWCASE #2 Family and Friends of our youth, teens and Tuesday hip hop classes should attend Showcase #2 at 5:00.  


YOUTH/TEEN PARENTS THAT WISH TO ATTEND BOTH SHOWCASES, CAN DO SO. WE PROMISE OUR MONDAY LITTLES WILL BE ENTERTAING AND FUN TO WATCH.

TICKET RESERVATION AND PAYMENT INFORMATION  

Reservation system: Our reservation system is very important as our venue has limited seating and we will be at capacity for Showcase #2. 

Update 4/12: With the changing to two shows on May 11 -  We should no longer have a capacity issue.  However purchase your tickets beginning April 17. 

 

Payments:

Payment for all reserved tickets balances due by May 1.  Any unpaid reserved tickets after May 1 will be released as extra available tickets. 

  • Tickets are $22 each:  Payable to VENMO (Kelly Gagliardi-Dieguez) or PayPal (Velocitydanceworks@gmail.com), or directly to Kelly. Please make sure you mention the dancers name with your payment and state “Tickets” or “Costumes”.
  • Physical tickets will be distributed in May. 
  • Special needs accomadations, please let Kelly know and check in with our front end manager the day of the show. 
  • Admission is General Admission.  The venue is very nice and every seat has a good view.
          

Arrival times for Dancers on May 11th for rehearsal:

Times - To Be Determined  

  • All guests will need to stop at the main Security Desk upon entry,  and then proceed to our student drop off location near the auditorium. A Velocity event staff member will escort all youth and children to the dressing areas. Please have all of your child's clothes and shoes organized and labeled. Once, you drop off your dancer, you will need to leave and return to the venue for the show.  

For the safety of our children, no parents/guests are allowed in the dressing area.  Our 3/5 year-olds, will be escorted by our Mom's who are dancing today. 

Recommendation for parents due to early student drop-off:
Since many of you may not be able to drive all of the way  back home, our venue is approximately 10 minutes from West Hartford Center, which has many nice lunch options  and coffee shops.  Blue Back square has a book store as well. Our Venue, the JCC, has a wonderful playground for children that is open to the public, if you have siblings with our and want to pack a picnic lunch. 

 

Our Show and Guests/Tickets and Arrival Info:

  • Doors Open at 2:40 (first show) and 4:30 (second show) and not sooner. Show begins at 5:00.
  • All guests will enter through the main door. Please stop at the security desk and information them you are here for our show in the auditorium. 
    All guests will sign in with our event staff in the hallway near the auditorium.  Be prepared to give your dancer's name, so we can check off your ticket box.  
  • There will be a ten minute intermission between Act Two and Act Three.
  • FOR THE SAFETY OF OUR STUDENTS: No parents, family members, friends allowed in the dressing area during the show or during intermission without prior reason/permission. If there is any reason to contact a parent, we will find you.
  • If you have an guest that has difficult with stairs, please inform Kelly.

        

Student pick-up after the show

Once the show is done, our staff will help our students get organized.  We will let parents of our Littles in first. Please be patient as the safety of our students is important. Please, only one family member in the dressing room to pick up your dancer.

2) Youth/Teen/Adult Dancers do not leave (in house break before show #2)

Student Dressing Room Rules and Guidance

  • We will have things to occupy our tiny dancers, However, you may bring books, crayons, etc.
  • No Electronic devices, we do not want anything to be lost
  • Lunch and Snacks: No nuts, No greasy snacks, No messy lunch and snacks that will make your fingers turn colors.
  • DRINKS: Only Clear Water. Please, no colored drinks, juice boxes or Gatorade type drinks.

This is a long day for our older dancers, so make sure they have a healthy lunch for their rehearsal break. We will have extra water on hand. 

Costumes/Hair/Makeup

Costumes/labeling:

All costumes/accessories such as hats, and shoes need to be labeled with dancer's name. This is important for all dancers including teenagers. Use masking tape inside clothing if there is no label to write on. Masking tape inside shoes. Please label water bottles and for younger dancers please label their snack and lunch bags. The dressing room has hanging racks, so where applicable costumes should be on a hanger. Please use your checklist to not forget anything as this venue is not ten minutes from home. 

Hair:

Make-up: 
Dancers should have color on their face. Girls, should have blush, lipstick color that highlights lips not hides them, and purple/pinks eyeshadow (not blue or greens).

Youth/Teens - Arrive in your base layer (shorts, t's over it) ready to put on your first costume we need for blocking.
